PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR SPONSOR, YOUR TRANSPORTATION OFFICE AND CHECK THE PERSONAL PROPERTY WORLDWIDE CONSIGNMENT GUIDE.
Ensure that your POV meets the following requirements:
- 1/4 TANK OF FUEL OR LESS
- CLEAN INSIDE AND OUTSIDE AT THE TIME OF SHIPMENT
- DRY INSIDE AT THE TIME OF SHIPMENT
- PLACE WHEEL LOCK KEY INSIDE GLOVE BOX WHEN APPLICABLE
- EMERGENCY BRAKE AND REGULAR BRAKES MUST BE 100% FULLY Functional ( E-brake must hold @ 1000 RPMS in drive and reverse).
PLEASE NOTE: Plan ahead during inclement weather local area car washes will be closed it is highly recommended to wash your vehicle a day prior to your appointment date to prevent process delays.
Turning in or storing POVs:
URGENT - PLEASE READ BELOW REQUIREMENTS:
HERE IS SOME PERTINENT ADDITIONAL INFO:
1) Storage Authorization Letter from your Transportation/Personal Property Office if you are storing your vehicle.
2) Letter of Authorization or Notarized Power of Attorney is needed to process the vehicle for turn-ins or pick-ups if someone is acting as the service member's agent . Exception to this would be a spouse if listed on the orders. Claims at pick-up, if a claim is being processed by an agent, the agent will need a power of attorney to process the claim.
3) **Some countries require a copy of your Passport, please check with the VPC or your host country sponsor. These are required for Department of State moves, hard-lift countries i.e., Budapest, Bulgaria, Hungary, etc. Check with the VPC to determine if your move is considered a hard-lift area or under a Department of State move.
4) Vehicle must be registered in the Service Members Name. If the spouse is the only name on the Title/Registration, then the spouses name must also be on the orders. Additionally, if the spouse is the only one on the Title/registration, then we need a copy of the Marriage Certificate and a written letter from the spouse giving the Service Member permission to ship the vehicle and vice versa. Whoever is not on the Title/Registration must give permission to ship the vehicle. Marriage Certificate needed if not on registration and not on orders.
Picking up:
Bring a valid picture identification and your vehicle inspection form given to you when you turned in your vehicle.
If someone other than the Service Member is picking up, they need Power of Attorney or Letter of Authorization sample is on IAL home page pick up documents page, unless previously authorized when you turned in your vehicle. Spouses listed on the PCS Orders do not need authorization.
Custom Documents: Custom documents will be provided to you during the pick-up process. However if you would like the custom documents beforehand, please contact us, so we can mail your custom documents to your home. We cannot email or fax your custom documents, please plan accordingly. If custom documents are not available at time of pick up appointment the custom documents will be mailed out to you.
